Job Role: Network Administrator

Job Description:

A network administrator is responsible for maintaining and managing the computer networks of an organization. This includes the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software. They ensure that the network is running efficiently, troubleshoot any issues that may arise, and provide support to users.

Responsibilities:

• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software
• Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting any issues that may arise
• Managing network security and implementing security measures to protect the organization’s data
• Managing and maintaining network servers, including backups and disaster recovery
• Providing support to users and troubleshooting any network-related issues
• Managing and maintaining network documentation and inventory
• Keeping up-to-date with new technologies and trends in network administration

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in network administration
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
• Experience with network security and firewalls
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Qualifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or other industry-recognized network certification is preferred
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell)
• Experience with network management tools (Cisco Prime, SolarWinds)

Salary Range:

$50,000 – $100,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
