Give me an example of a time that you felt you went above and beyond the call of duty at work? and what was its outcome?

This is a common job interview question that the recruiters may ask their candidates, try answering this question in the following way:

One example of a time that I went above and beyond the call of duty at work was when I was working as a customer service representative. One of our clients had an urgent issue with their account, and I was the only representative available at that moment. The client was extremely frustrated and had been on the phone for over an hour trying to resolve the issue. I listened to the client’s concerns, empathized with their situation, and promised to do everything in my power to resolve the issue.

I spent over two hours researching the issue and speaking with different departments within the company to find a solution. I finally found a way to resolve the issue, and the client was overjoyed with the outcome. They were grateful for my hard work and dedication to their problem, and they thanked me for going above and beyond the call of duty.

The outcome of my actions was that the client was extremely satisfied with the resolution and left with a positive impression of our company. I also received recognition from my manager and co-workers for my excellent customer service and commitment to resolving the issue.

In this situation, I felt that going above and beyond the call of duty was the right thing to do because the client was in a difficult situation, and I wanted to make sure that they were satisfied with the outcome. It was a challenging situation, but I was proud of the outcome and the impact it had on the client’s perception of our company.
