  • Operating and maintaining medical equipment used in the office, such as EKG machines or sterilization equipment.

Patient Care:
  • Assisting patients with mobility, transfers, and personal hygiene.
  • Preparing and maintaining examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
  • Providing emotional support and maintaining a comforting environment for patients and their families.
  • Assisting with medical procedures, such as wound dressing changes or suture removal.

  • Following infection control and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Education: Most medical assistants have a high school diploma or equivalent. Some employers may require completion of a medical assisting program, which can be obtained through vocational schools, community colleges, or online programs.
  • Certification: While not always mandatory, many medical assistants choose to become certified to enhance their job prospects. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is a widely recognized certification in the field.
