Job Role: Information Security Analyst

Job Description:

Information Security Analysts are responsible for protecting an organization’s computer systems and networks from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. They work to identify and mitigate potential security threats and vulnerabilities, implement security measures and protocols, and monitor network activity to detect and respond to security breaches.

Responsibilities:

• Identifying and assessing potential security threats and vulnerabilities
• Developing and implementing security measures and protocols to protect computer systems and networks
• Monitoring network activity to detect and respond to security breaches
• Conducting regular security audits and risk assessments
• Communicating security risks and vulnerabilities to senior management and other stakeholders
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in information security or a related field
• Strong understanding of computer networks and security protocols
• Experience with security software and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable
• Experience with cloud security and compliance is a plus
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and NIST
• Experience with incident response and threat intelligence is a plus
• Strong understanding of network topologies and protocols.

Salary Range:

The median annual salary for Information Security Analysts in the USA is $92,600.
