Job Role: Dance Instructor

Job Description:

Dance instructors are responsible for teaching various styles of dance to students of all ages and skill levels. They may work in schools, dance studios, fitness centers, or other settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and teaching dance classes for students of various ages and skill levels
  • Choreographing and teaching routines for performances and competitions
  • Assessing student progress and providing feedback and guidance
  • Maintaining a safe and positive learning environment
  • Communicating with students, parents, and other instructors
  • Staying current with new dance techniques and trends
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in dance instruction or performance
  • Strong knowledge of various dance styles
  • Strong communication and teaching skills
  • Ability to work with students of all ages and skill levels
  • First aid and CPR certification (may be required by some employers)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in dance, education, or a related field (preferred)
  • Dance teacher certification or professional training
  • Teaching experience in a formal setting
  • Knowledge of safe dance practices and injury prevention techniques
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Passion for dance and a desire to share that passion with others.
