Job Role: Bus Driver

Job Description:

Bus drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destination on time. They operate buses, vans, and other vehicles on scheduled routes and make stops at designated locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow a set schedule and route
  • Pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is safe to operate
  • Follow traffic laws and regulations
  • Keep accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance needs
  • Communicate with dispatch and other drivers to coordinate routes and report any issues
  • Provide customer service to passengers, including answering questions and helping with boarding and exiting the vehicle
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Physical ability to operate a bus, including the ability to lift and move bags and assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle
Qualifications:
  • Commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement
  • Experience driving a bus or other large vehicle
  • Training in defensive driving and emergency response procedures
  • Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
  • Familiarity with the area and routes of the bus company

Salary Range:

$30,000 – $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience
